Up Country is 40! Celebrating 15 years with Pasquesi Home & Gardens

Here at Up Country, we are proudly celebrating 40 years in business! This would not be possible without the support and collaboration of some outstanding retailers. To mark this milestone, we’re shining a spotlight on those retailers who’ve stuck with us for years, helping us bring style and comfort to countless furry friends. One of these is the wonderful Pasquesi! Learn more about them in our interview below.  

Why and/or how did you start your company and what year? Edward Pasquesi and his wife, Marie, started the business in 1975—evolving from a small hardware store in Highland Park, Illinois into the retail business that is known today as Pasquesi Home and Gardens—which is currently located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. We’ve been a vital, growing part of Chicago’s North Shore for nearly 50 years. 

Tell us a little about your store and the area you are located. Pasquesi Home & Gardens is an established family business with the three siblings now playing key roles in the daily operations. They grew up in the business and have each brought their own talents to contribute to today’s Pasquesi Home & Gardens. Besides a large greenhouse with outdoor plants, the Lake Bluff store has 4 departments: Pet & Wild Bird, Indoor Plants, Lawn & Garden & Home Accents. 

How did you find out about the Up Country brand and when did you start selling our products? We found out about Up Country products through our rep, Joanne Mancini around 2009.

What is a customer favorite, or your favorite design and why? Daisy! The retro design and color scheme really appeals to our customer base. 

Anything else you would like to say about Up Country? Up Country is our best selling brand for dog collars and leads. They are always introducing new patterns and designs that our customers really love!
